Chance is from the West African nation of Sierra Leone. Chimpanzees are super strong for their body size and can hang from trees with ease (just try with it Chance!). Chance spends most of his time in the wooded areas in a community of 20 chimpanzees. Chimps are very smart and they organize themselves into rigid social hierarchies that are based as much on politics as on the strength of any one monkey. Much of what we know about chimpanzees like Chance comes from the studies of the world's premier primatologist, Jane Goodall!
